Prior to the particular event, a thematic focus will be determined with the event organizer.
CHOICE OF WALLS
The downtown area of the particular city will be scouted for suitable walls for projection of the films and a connecting route will be mapped. The event, including walking time, should not exceed a 1.5-hour time frame.
PERMISSION FOR THE EVENT
Because the event will utilize and take place in public space, permission from the proper city agency must be obtained. The approval for the use of the walls should be obtained from the respective owners.
SELECTION OF THE PROGRAMM
After the thematic focus and the route are determined, a selection of films can be made.
The »Archiv der Kurzfilmagentur Hamburg«, with its approximately 10000 films, is at our disposal as well as a network of short film festivals. In addition to these sources, we contact local filmmakers for existing material or commission material according to the thematic focus.
PERFORMANCE OF THE EVENT
After darkness falls the audience gathers at the starting location. There is no limit to the size of the audience. The highest attendance thus far was 850 people.
The first film is shown. After the end of this feature, the equipment is put on a handcart and the whole group moves on to the next wall and so on.
The set up and break down of the equipment does not delay the proceedings. Before the group has settled at the next location, the projection is ready.
LAST OF ALL...
...weather: In order to prevent the cancellation of the event, we will seek out alternative, dry locations like subway stations and underpasses.
...wheels: If the chosen route includes stairways or steps, we will provide alternative access for wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles.
